Love... Love... Loved it. My husband and I had an amazing weekend (cabin #3, the Guest Nest). Check-in was a breeze, both fast and super friendly with a veterans discount. There was even a special note on our cabin door thanking me for my service. Everything in and around the cabin was clean and very well kept. I didn't want to leave, but we are planning a return trip in January. Highly recommended!
As I stated on Yelp, my husband and I were so excited for this trip! We have two young children and we were long due for a break, we walked in with candles lit, electric fire place on very romantic. For the occasion the stay was what we need 3 out of 5 rating. There were crumbs in the couch (not from us) sheets were a little dirty, dead bug under our bed, shower was yellow (gross). Moldy sponge in the sink. We did appreciate the hot tub and privacy of the cabin we picked hummingbird haven! (Ants on the sink, bring spray) next time I think we'll try a different company. The people that work there are very nice though on the bright side!! I did not call and complain my husband wanted to he was very disappointed but I just wanted to make the best out of what little time we had together. Not sure, we'll be back to this resort. I think they need a better cleaning services!!
The wife and I go yearly as an anniversary get away for the both of us. The cabins have always been super clean, they smell nice and are always welcoming. The staff have always been super nice, and helpful. The area that the cabins are in are at times spooky quiet! You can hear leaves falling out of the tress from 50 yards away. Hot tubs have always been in full operation and clean, the outside grills have always been clean and full of propane. Worth every penny in my opinion.
Just stayed here and loved it. The only reason I'm giving a 4 star rating is the unclear distance of our actual cabin from the office which was a pretty good haul. It would be helpful if this was more clear on the website maybe showing a map with all the cabins pinned. We did receive clear directions to the cabin though and it was worth the drive. Tip for newbies: get your maps ready ahead of time and don't rely on cell phone GPS. Request a visitor's guide from the official Hocking Hills website in advance because it has very helpful maps. Anywho, the cabin was super cute and as expected with nice rustic decor. We felt secluded and the only other cabin on the property, the Eagle's Nest, was far enough away for ample privacy. Everything was clean, comfortable and in working order. Kitchen was clean and well stocked although I did bring my own pots and pans because another reviewer had mentioned older, possibly chipped Teflon cookware. Beware, oven runs HOT so watch what you're baking. Hot tub was nice after hiking too but some of the towels are a little worn and could be replaced. Another suggestion is better lighting by the front porch stairs. Very hard to see in the dark and easy to trip on. Equestrian Ridge Farm was right down the same road for convenient horseback riding. I would absolutely stay here again and would recommend staying here if you're looking to unplug for awhile. I'm already planning my next trip there. Thanks Getaway Cabins.
