It didn't look like a day spa at all. It looked like an old run down banquet hall. When you walk in, there is a 70s looking bar area which was dirty and cluttered. The bathroom looked like a bathroom from a bar. Not spa quality at all. The actual hot stone service was great but the place needs cleaned, updated, painted and finished. I would not go back and regret spending $ there. Overpriced for what you get. We were both pretty disappointed.
Not a good experience. We were greeted by an older gentleman who was nice enough, but there was no enthusiasm or real feel of any kind of benevolence. The ambience is seriously lacking.....there was no music playing when we walked in, no "smell good" stuff happening (that you would typically have in a spa setting) and no other people present. There is an enormous moose head on the wall which made for an awkward conversation at the end of our visit-the man describing to us that when a moose is hit by a car, its legs get decapitated from its body because of how large they are in comparison to a car, and how the size of the head and antlers hitting the car almost guarantee human fatalities.....what?! We were walked back through some doors that were swinging doors once used for what I would assume to be a kitchen setting....like a restaurant. It was an odd setup. I was getting a stone massage and my friend was getting a hand and foot treatment. They asked us if we wanted to be in the same room together and we agreed to it......wrong decision. Never, ever should those two services be in the same room....it should have never been offered to us. Her service was so loud and distracting. Her hands and feet were wrapped in what sounded like plastic wrap, and buckets of water kept being tossed out and refilled throughout the hour. It wasn't relaxing in the least. The room was not soundproof at all. I could hear the cars going by the building as clear as day. The music they provided during the hour was the man's phone hooked up to a speaker in the room. The woman who did my massage seemed nice, but I don't think she spoke more than 5 words to me. Again, the benevolence was missing. The massage was fine, but nothing special. We won't be returning to this spa, nor would we recommend it. It was not worth $120 in the least.
We had a wonderful experience with Ash Cave Day Spa! I booked a surprise in-cabin couple's massage for my husband and I while we were visiting Hocking Hills. Randy was very communicative, and he made it easy to get everything set up. I'm also 7 months pregnant, so he worked with me to make sure that I was able to have just as great of a massage experience as my husband. The massages were amazing - very calming and relaxing. And both Randy and his colleague, Brandi, were kind, personable and professional. We'll definitely call them again when we're back in the area.
Very welcoming and calming. A much needed massage!
My cousin got married there. Beautiful!
